The Group's financial services business is composed of Equicom
Savings Bank, a medium-sized savings bank; ALGO Leasing & Finance,
Inc., a leasing and financing company; GOAL Credit Corporation, a wholly-
owned subsidiary of ALGO Leasing that offers loans and other financial
services; CIBI Information, Inc., the Philippines' first and only domestic
credit reporting agency; and Philippine Rating Services Corporation, the
pioneer and dominant credit rating agency in the country.
Its information technology business is composed of MediLink Network,
Inc., a healthtech company; Equitable Computer Services, Inc., a provider
of computer products and services; Equicom, Inc., a provider of computer
systems and technology solutions; Equicom Information Technology, Inc., a
back-office outsourcing company; Outsource Network Contact Center and
Back Office Services, Inc., a complete outsourcing solutions provider; and
Equicom Shared Services, Inc., an outsourcing service provider in the
fields of Human Capital Management, Commercial Management & General
Services, Finance & Accounting, and Corporate Audit & Assurance.
On the other hand, the Go Kim Pah Foundation, Inc. is engaged in
philanthropic and charitable causes, and sends underprivileged yet
deserving youth to colleges and universities.
The moving force behind the Equicom Group is Antonio L. Go, a
seasoned, well-respected banker, and businessman in the Philippines.
Mr. Go was Chairman of Equitable PCI Bank (founded in 1950 by Go Kim
Pah, his father) which was then the third largest bank in the Philippines. Mr.
Go was a Director in the Equitable Banking Group, one of the largest
financial services groups in the country. He also held other key
management positions in various companies in the Philippines and
Singapore.
Antonio Go pioneered the credit card industry in the Philippines, which
in turn led to the founding of Equitable Card Network (ECN), the largest
credit card issuer and acquirer in the Philippines. It was also the only card
issuer that simultaneously carried the four global credit card brands,
namely VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and JCB. In addition, ECN
had the widest Point-of-Sale (POS) terminal network in the country.
Mr. Go was a member of the Executive Committee of VISA International
Worldwide and a Director as well. He served as Chairman of the VISA
International Pacific Board from 1998 to 2005 and was a Director since
1980.
The Equicom Group, under the stewardship of Group Chairman Antonio
L. Go and Vice Chairman Rene J. Buenaventura, will be a significant niche
player in the Philippine market over the next several years as it takes full
advantage of its pool of talent and strength in technology to serve corporate
and individual clients in the areas of healthcare, financial services, and
